BABATUNDE A. SOTAYO-ARO, ESQ

Babatunde A. Sotayo-Aro is an experienced legal practitioner with over three decades of active practice in litigation, commercial law, property law and legal advisory services. He obtained his LL.B. (Hons.) degree from the University of Lagos in 1988 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in June 1991. He undertook his National Youth Service with the Lagos State Ministry of Justice at the Alausa Secretariat from 1989 to 1990, where he served in the Legal Drafting Department. He subsequently commenced his professional career at Dosunmu, Sotayo-Aro & Co., Legal Practitioners, Lagos, where he gained extensive experience in litigation, property management and general legal practice. In 1997, he established B.A. Sotayo-Aro & Co. on Lagos Island. He later served as a Partner at D.O. Lijadu & Co. and subsequently joined Abiola Ogungbiyi & Co., where his practice covered commercial transactions, secured credit, funds management, property law and related corporate matters. Following further service at D.O. Lijadu & Co., he returned to lead B.A. Sotayo-Aro & Co. as its Principal Partner. His practice is predominantly litigation-driven, with substantial experience representing individuals, corporate organisations and institutions before the High Courts, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He also advises clients on commercial transactions, property matters, regulatory issues, dispute resolution and other complex legal concerns. He is recognised for his strategic approach to legal problems, thorough preparation, professional integrity and commitment to protecting the interests of his clients.
